BMD

We have this thing called the "BMD". It stands for "Best Moment of the Day". Tonight it was catching Emma and Papa reading bedtime stories. This is the idealic image of a parent reading a soothing bedtime story to their child to relax them before dozing off to dreamland.

Or, in my house, for the most part...the lovely time when i am yelling at my kids to brush their teeth and wash up before getting in bed. somehow it has turned into the "I am done being a parent time...just get in bed". So it was nice to see some assemblance on normalcy tonight as Papa put the kids to bed after books. Ah...love those moments..so few and far between.

I kinda feel guilty having just typed those words but I know alot of you can sympathize.

so, i thought when i created this blog that i would expound on my thoughts daily and share my magnificence with the world. however, i find that really, on a daily basis, not so much to say. I did however, get tickets to DANE COOK (comedy god..next to Steve Carell). 8 of us are going and i can't wait! He has the best website and does these DANECASTS you can listen to. it's like having a phone conversation with the man.

Here are some random photos...just sharing as it comes to me. Spencer and emma on spencer's 8th birthday. he was psyched because he got a mirror ball and spot lights for when the kids do shows at our house. oh...also an epileptic fit inducing strobe light..UGH!

Halloween is just around the corner

i thought i would post a few photos from halloweens past...the kids have so much fun and this year we look forward to trick or treating in our new neighborhood with lots of kids. Here is emma's halloween cover of our friend's magazine from last year. The other is spencer and emma with their friends Brooke and Sophia. I think Brooke (dressed as a genie) looks like a younger version of Hayden Panetierre!! Anyone, anyone?

airplane travel

what is it about airplane caterers that they have to supply you with the most INEFFICIENT drinking cups known to man. they serve beverages (and even this is a struggle) in these wide mouth plastic cups no more than 3 inches high with a circumference of a mile! Didn't anyone think of the spill factor on a plane? You would think that they would serve drinks in bottles and leave it at that. And then, the drink holder is a SLIGHT indentation in the tray that has a curved edge so that the slippery cup is almost invited to slide right out onto your lap!

Whoever designed air travel accessories definitely didn't have children.

Today olivier and i went santa monica to fill out the paperwork for my FRENCH PASSPORT! I am officially french and have a french birth certificate...which was ironically received at the consulate on AUGUST 9th! How weird!! Also, we dined at THE IVY in santa monica but saw no celebrities! (unless you count Kitty something or other from a design show)

oh the horror..

i just found this photo of me before my friend mimi's wedding. i had just gotten back from Playa Blanca and had the 1990 BIG HAIR! Wow...wish i had that much growth on my head now!

so...day 2

got some nice comments from some of you. so excited!! Here is a snapshot of spencer from last weekend. He and olivier went hiking in red rock canyon for 3.5 hours and hiked 6.5 miles! he was so proud. I was surprised olivier could keep up!!

Can't believe I actually bit the bullet and started a blog. Well, it will give me something to do on the computer other than Webkinz or check TMZ.com. I will be posting photos when i can and leaving you thoughts for the day.
